First thing to note: your hands change over time. If you don't have one now, you may later. If you do have one now, don't count on having it forever! I recommend taking a photo of your hands every year to see how they change. Palmists don't all agree on the meaning of these stars (or many other things!) but i can tell you how i read them. Upright on the dominant hand: this is how I most like to see the symbol show up. I view it as both a sign of protection and a call to spiritual gifts. Location matters! The context of the whole hand matters! I would love if you commented where your star is, but I can't give you a specific reading like that. I think these stars tend to show up when we are nearing taking a risk or getting outside of our comfort zone. Upright on the non dominant hand: i read this in a similar way to the dominant hand but with the energy of reflection. I think it is showing us where we have been protected and where our spiritual gifts have shown up in the past but perhaps have been neglected, shunned, or forgotten. Wander through your childhood memories to see if anything stands out that might feel good to revisit. Pointing down on either hand: remember location and context of the entire hand matter. There are some who read the symbol as dark energy, maybe misuse of spiritual gifts. This may only apply to past lives on the nondominant hand. These are the ways I read it on the hand of someone that makes me generally uneasy. Otherwise I take it as a warning. For example, you may have intuitive gifts that help you relate to other people. Rather than using those gifts to be upfront, you use them to manipulate because that feels safer than potential confrontation. I don't read this as dark energy so much as a survival tactic. It's uncommon to have all 10 matching finger patterns. Focus on the dominant pattern (most fingers) and apply other patterns to individual finger meanings- cheat sheet in the comments. -Unlike the markings of the palms, which change throughout our lives, the fingerprints are permanent. -There is variety within each of these basic patterns, but I only have so many fingers to display! Loops are long, somewhat open and typically slant toward the thumb, but they can slant away or even form S shapes. They are the most common shape, which is good because they belong to people who work well with others. Variations within the shape tell us how easy or difficult it is, but generally this shape belongs to those who are adaptable, able to go with the flow, and weigh the needs of others in their own decisions. Whorls can appear as concentric circles or spirals. It is very rare to have them on all 10 fingers, but most people have one or two whorls. Whorls are a sign of individualism. They reveal where we are stubborn, focused, and struggle to be team players. Whorls show us where we take our time being thoughtful and decisive and where creative expression is of greater importance. Arches can have a modest curve or create tall peaks. They are the least common and hold very different meanings. Arches with a modest curve (simple arches) belong to people who are down to earth, practical, and reliable. The fingers with this pattern reveal where a person does not concern themselves with societal standards or what’s popular. For example, simple arches on a Mercury finger might reveal a person unconcerned with slang, who is an efficient communicator and frugal with money.
